Buying Shoes online

Most my friends ask me "where do you buy your shoes from?" so I decided to put up a quick post about it.
So as the title suggest, I buy my shoes online. In India, unfortunately, there aren't that many options and the stock is usually crap. I've even written to Nike to get us some good stuff here but they never replied :(

So getting straight to things, here's what you need to know about buying shoes online:
  • Know your size: Every brand has its own version of a standard size. Some run larger some run smaller. I always buy a size 9.5 Nike but a size 9 Supra. So you gotta know your shoe size well. The trick is to try different brands in the retail store near your house to get a good idea. A half size here-n-there doesnt matter.
  • Know your seller: More often than not cheap stuff is fake, so don't look for places that sell cheap. Even while buying from Amazon make sure you check the seller's rating and feedback.
  • Look at different images of the same shoe: Most times, brands use photoshop and awesome cameras and lighting to take pictures of shoes. Be sure to do a quick image search on the shoes you're buying. Trust me this is critical, I know it sounds a hell lot to do but , over time you'll get a hang of things and the time taken will be far lesser.
  • When In doubt, don't buy: Always buy your shoes (for that matter, anything else) only when it really hits you hard! this is my rule of thumb. The shoe needs to hit me hard for me to buy them.
  • Videos: This is not really important but I do it anyways. A lot of awesome people put videos on youtube reviewing shoes. It gives a better idea of what material is used and get some perspective
  • Last but not least, ask me :) I'd love to help
